Technical Manager Facility & HVAC
For a foodservice wholesaler that serves the hospitality sector and institutions from several distribution centres in Belgium, we're looking for a national Technical Manager. You are the technical all-rounder who helps design, maintain and renew the technical and refrigeration installations at every site. You combine hands-on problem solving with advice to site managers and senior management.
What you'll do
- Give design and savings advice to site managers and facility managers
- Draw up design requirements for new and modified installations, request quotations, compare proposals and follow up execution
- Draw up and follow up the preventive maintenance plan for HVAC, air handling, refrigeration, water treatment, compressed air and electrical installations
- Research and introduce new technologies with a long-term view, and follow up the legislation on facility installations for all Belgian sites
- Diagnose technical problems, fix small defects yourself and steer the manufacturer when an intervention is needed
- Ensure uniform technical standards and manage work overviews and work orders, internally and with external parties
What you bring
- Many years of technical experience, preferably at least ten, with a strong focus on HVAC and refrigeration
- You produce clear, structured analyses and present them to site directors and general management
- You work both hands-on and in a steering role, and translate technical needs into smooth business operations
- A self-starter who gets up to speed independently in technical areas that are still new to you
- Fluent French or Dutch and good command of the other national language, a B driving licence and willing to travel regularly to the various sites
- Ideally some first experience leading a small technical team
