Employer cost calculator and salary benchmark for Belgian employers
Three tools to back up your pay budget before you open a vacancy: what the market pays for a role, what an employee costs you in total and what comes on top in your joint committee.
The figures use the same parameters as our gross-to-net calculator and the official sector sources behind the pay pages. They are an indication: your payroll provider calculates the exact amount with your own benefits and reductions.

€3,400 to €5,200
per month, premiums and benefits not included. Starters sit at the bottom of the range, seniors with a specialisation at the top.
≈ €78,561 (€6,547 average per month)
Annual cost = gross x 13.92 (holiday pay and year-end premium included) x 1.25 employer social security x 1.05 other costs. Indication before target group reductions; sector premiums and benefits such as a car come on top.

13.92 monthly salaries (incl. holiday pay and year-end premium) + 25% employer social security + ±5% insurances and administration

Frequently asked questions
What does an employee cost on top of the gross salary?
On top of the gross salary an employer pays the employer social security contribution, holiday pay and usually a year-end premium, plus the sector benefits such as meal vouchers and eco vouchers. The calculator on this page adds that up to an annual cost and shows the breakdown.
What is a market-rate salary for a technical profile?
That depends on the role, the experience and the region. The benchmark shows per technical role the gross range from our role profiles and vacancy data, and what that range costs you as an employer. The sector minimum is on the pay scale page of your joint committee.
Why does the cost of a blue-collar worker differ from a white-collar employee?
For a blue-collar worker the holiday pay runs through the national holiday fund and the employer contribution differs from a white-collar employee. The labour cost report therefore uses the formula of the right statute per joint committee.
