Permanent or freelance: what fits your technical need?
Not every technical need calls for a permanent hire. A short guide to picking the right form.
The reflex for an open role is often an immediate permanent hire. Sometimes that's the best choice, but far from always. The question isn't 'who', but first 'which form'.
Go permanent when the role is structural and knowledge needs to stay in-house. Think of an engineer who learns your product inside out, or a technician who manages your installations for years.
Go freelance when it's a project with an end, a peak in workload, or scarce expertise you only need temporarily. You buy speed and flexibility, without a long-term commitment.
Not sure? Then the conversation matters more than the form. A good partner thinks along about what the role really needs, instead of selling you one solution.
