Technician Freight Wagons
As a Freight Wagon Technician in Beveren, you inspect and repair freight wagons so that they return to service technically compliant and safe. You join an employer in rail vehicle maintenance in East Flanders on a permanent contract. You check underframes, brakes, couplings and wagon structures and carry out mechanical repairs and adjustments. Technical training in mechanics, welding or electromechanics and an interest in heavy rolling stock are your starting point.
What you'll do
- Inspect underframes, brakes, couplings and wagon structures
- Carry out mechanical repairs and replacements
- Carry out the necessary adjustments on the wagons
- Document your findings during every inspection
- Determine the right repair method together with your colleagues
- Perform final checks before a wagon returns to service
- Strictly respect railway and workshop safety rules
