The example text

Electromechanic (m/f/x)

At [company] you work with your hands and your head: you assemble, adjust and repair machines, both electrically and mechanically. In the workshop and on the floor you learn from experienced colleagues.

What you will do

  • Assemble, adjust and commission machines and installations
  • Replace mechanical wear parts: bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes
  • Trace electrical faults in control cabinets, motors and cabling
  • Perform preventive maintenance rounds and report deviations
  • Weld, turn or fit small modifications in the workshop

Who you are

  • Training in electromechanics (secondary or graduate) or equivalent through experience
  • Mechanical insight and basic electrical knowledge, with the will to deepen both
  • Reading technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Working skilfully and precisely, also when production is waiting for you
  • Attestations such as VCA and electrical competence are an asset

What we offer

  • A gross monthly salary between €2,800 and €4,000, depending on your experience as an electromechanic
  • Pay for shifts and overtime: to be discussed
  • Training on new machines and installations: to be discussed

You fill in what is "to be discussed" yourself. We add no benefits we do not know; the pay range is a market indication, not a pay scale.

Three tips for your electromechanic job ad

  1. Describe the workshop and the tools. An electromechanic looks at order and decent equipment, and that says more than a general line about a pleasant atmosphere.
  2. Write whether you give recent graduates with internship experience a chance. Experienced electromechanics are scarce, and a clear entry point widens the group of candidates.
  3. Make the balance between electrical and mechanical work clear. Someone strong on the electrical side wants to know the job is not mainly replacing bearings.

Is it a bottleneck profession?

Yes. VDAB lists "Industrieel elektromecanicien" on the 2026 list of bottleneck professions. VDAB counts it among the ten largest bottleneck professions in Flanders.
Cause according to VDAB: too few job seekers available on the labour market; candidates lack the right experience or training
