Technical sales engineer
The commercial engineer who sells technical solutions: translating customer needs into the right product and building relationships on expertise.
As a technical sales engineer you don't sell a box, you sell a solution. Whether it's pumps, automation or HVAC systems: customers buy from you because you understand their technical problem and can substantiate the right answer, down to the specifications.
It's the best-paid route for technical profiles who draw energy from customer contact. The combination is scarce: those who master technology and can sell choose their own employer.

Frequently asked questions
What does a technical sales engineer earn in Belgium?
Roughly 3,200 to 5,000 euros gross per month as fixed salary, almost always complemented by a company car and a bonus or commission scheme that can raise the total package considerably. See our salary guide for current ranges per vacancy.
Do I need an engineering degree for technical sales?
No. What counts is credibly mastering the technology of your product. Many strong technical sales engineers started as technicians or engineers and rolled into sales through customer contact. That practical base often beats a degree without field experience.
Is technical sales for me if I come from a technical role?
If customer contact gives you energy: probably yes. The switch feels big, but you already have your biggest asset: customers trust a salesperson who genuinely understands their installation. Commercial skills can be learned; technical credibility can't be faked.
