Who you are

  • Refrigeration certificate (category I or II) or the willingness to obtain it quickly
  • Electrical insight: reading schematics, measuring and working safely on installations
  • Independent and client-focused: you are often on the road alone at clients

You fill in what is "to be discussed" yourself. We add no benefits we do not know; the pay range is a market indication, not a pay scale.

Three tips for your refrigeration technician job ad

  1. State which refrigeration certificate you require and whether you let someone obtain it. A refrigeration technician needs a legal certificate, so this is the first question.
  2. Name the refrigerants and installations. Experience with natural refrigerants is scarce, and those who have it want to know whether it will be used with you.
  3. Write how standby duty is paid. A fairly paid on-call arrangement is a reason for refrigeration technicians to stay or to leave.

Is it a bottleneck profession?

Yes. VDAB lists "Koeltechnicus" on the 2026 list of bottleneck professions.
