  • Three shifts: €61.97 extra, €2,395.03 in total

Nuances from the agreement

  • Agreement of 6 October 1997, tacitly renewed each year: if you move as a white-collar employee from day work to shift or night work, your salary rises per full month worked in shifts by 17.35 euros (mornings only, for example 06:00 to 14:00), 30.99 euros (afternoons only, 14:00 to 22:00), 24.79 euros (two shifts, alternating) or 61.97 euros (three shifts, alternating mornings, afternoons or nights).
  • In the vegetable canning industry 24.79 euros apply to a fixed morning or afternoon shift and 61.97 euros to alternating shifts.
  • For an incomplete month or part-time shift work you get the premium pro rata. After consulting the unions a company may distribute the amounts differently, as long as the total stays at least the national minimum. If you ask for a different timetable yourself, the arrangement does not apply.
  • The amounts are the euro conversion of the 1997 amounts; the sector fiche mentions no indexation of them. Many food companies pay higher premiums through the company agreement.
  • Work on the sixth or seventh day of the week is paid at least 25% above the normal hourly wage, on top of the statutory supplements.
